PM Modi has condemned the attack on the Assam Rifles convoy in Manipur

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has condemned the attack on the Assam Rifles convoy in Manipur. He paid homage to those soldiers and family members who have been martyred today. A close watch is being kept on the Myanmar border to prevent any escape of the terrorists involved in today’s attack in Manipur. Army headquarters is closely monitoring the situation.

Terrorists first carried out IED blast to ambush the convoy of 46 Assam Rifles Commanding Officer Colonel Viplav Tripathi & then fired at the vehicles in Churachandpur, Manipur. The officer was returning from his forward company base to his battalion headquarters

Indian Army Chief Gen MM Naravane has been briefed on the Manipur terrorist attack in which a colonel, his two family members & four jawans lost their lives today. Operations have been launched in the area of the attack to nab the terrorists involved.

The President tweeted that “The attack on Assam Rifles convoy that led to the martyrdom of our soldiers & family members in Manipur deserves unreserved condemnation. This cowardly act reaffirms our resolve to root out terror in all its forms and manifestations.”

The Prime Minister tweeted : “Strongly condemn the attack on the Assam Rifles convoy in Manipur. I pay homage to those soldiers and family members who have been martyred today. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten. My thoughts are with the bereaved families in this hour of sadness.”

The Home Minister Amit Shah tweeted that “The sacrifices of our brave soldiers will not go in vain, tweets HM Amit Shah on the Manipur attack that claimed seven lives.”

Manipur CM N. Biren Singh visits Shija Hospital in Imphal where one of the jawans injured in today’s attack on the Assam Rifles convoy is admitted. He tells “I have directed my officials and hospital authority to provide the best medical care for the jawan.” Paramilitary forces along with the commandos have launched a massive combing operation in the area of the attack (on Assam Rifles) to nab the culprits.

Rahul Gandhi tweeted that “The terrorist attack on the army convoy in Manipur once again proves that the Modi government is incapable of protecting the nation. My condolences to the martyrs and condolences to their families.” He also said that the nation will remember your sacrifice. Our national security is unpardonably compromised because GOI has no strategy and Mr 56” is scared. My thoughts are with the soldiers risking their lives to guard our borders while GOI churns out lies.
