Raghavendra Kumar Tripathi ‘Raghav’–
Whatever you want and what you desired, you could have told me true,
With all my strength, I’d have sought to make things right for you.
No grand car, yet I’d have offered journeys, side by side,
No previous gifts, but simple joys, where love could abide.
I know, I haven’t skill of words that sweetly feign,
Nor possess the more money that others gain.
Perhaps my presence is painful for you, as like sting,
My words are like sharp knife a bitter, unwelcome thing.
Now, you see another strong arms, where you take place,
In their embrace, you claim a different grace.
Let’s see where paths diverge and choices lead,
And what remains finally when all desires recede.
