  • Second Phase of Assembly Election in Uttar Pradesh and Single phase of voting in Goa and Uttarakhand passes off peacefully.
  • Rs 1154.90 crore released to four states for providing grants to Urban Local Bodies. The States to which grants were released are Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat and Sikkim. The grants released are meant for Non-Million Plus cities including Cantonment Boards.

  • Retail inflation jumps to 6.01% in January 2022 compared to 5.56% in December 2021. However, on a month-on-month basis, retail inflation fell by 0.3%.
