The External Affairs Ministry today said India has been supportive of an immediate de escalation of tensions between Ukraine and Russia and a resolution of the issue through sustained diplomatic dialogue. Briefing media in New Delhi this evening, Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said India welcomes efforts being undertaken for implementation of the Minsk agreements.
He also said developments in Ukraine are being monitored by the Indian Embassy in the country. He said advisories have been issued and control rooms have been set up.
Mr Bagchi said, India is following the developments in Canada in the context of blockades and protests going on there. He said, India has noted that Canadian government has invoked the Emergency Act.
Twelve Pakistani prisoners, who have completed their sentences, were repatriated to Pakistan via the Attari-Wagah land border today.
