Lok Sabha today passed with voice vote the outstanding demands for Grants in respect of the Union Budget for 2022-23. It also passed the appropriation Bill 2022.
The Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman moved to introduce the Bill to authorize payment and appropriation of certain sums out of the consolidated fund of India for the services of the Financial Year 2022-23.
Earlier the House also passed the demand for Grants for the ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. Several members of the House presented their views on the development of ports, shipping activities and waterways.
Subsequent to which the minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal gave a reply in the House. He said that the potential associated with the water resources is being tapped fully under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said that the Sagar Mala project, PM Matsya Sampada Yojana and Gati Shakti programme will make seafaring and inland waterways cargo movement profitable and the entire region in the country will benefit by it. He appreciated the success achieved by Cochin Shipyard in building world class war ships and 12 thousand cubic meter capacity dredger.
