Olympic silver medalist Saikhom Mirabai Chanu returned to Delhi from Tokyo this afternoon. In a tweet, she said, she is happy to be back in India amidst so much love and support.
She said that I was able to win this medal because of the prayers and love of the people of India. I wish all young people especially girls who have entered sports to make the country proud.
Mirabai Chanu made history by becoming the first Indian weightlifter to win a Silver Medal in the Women’s 49 kilogram category on Day One of the Tokyo Olympics.
