life is like mirage

In shimmering heat, a vision gleams.
A lake of comfort, a land of dreams. Religion beckons, a promise untold.
But closer you get, the water, it fold.

A mirage, it shimmers, a trick of the light.
No solace it offers, no refuge from the fight.
For violence, a sickness, in all hearts it lies.
Not fueled by belief, but rage in disguise.

And non-violence, a choice of the mind.
A conscious detachment, a peace we can find.
Not born of religion, but reason’s decree.
A stillness within, for all the world to see.

So seek not for answers in deserts of sand.
But cultivate reason, a guiding hand.
For truth lies not in visions that shimmer and fade.
But in the choices we make, the path we have pave.
